Adding Scripts to the Queue from Dispense

To Add scripts to the Script Queue from Dispense:

1. Click the + button on the Script Queue panel header.

The Scan Barcode or Select Patient pop-up is displayed.

This is equivalent to the Scan Barcode or Select Patient field in the optional Front Counter program, and the subsequent workflow is the same:

  • You can scan ePrescription tokens, older style eScript barcodes, or your own repeat form barcodes.
  • You can also look up patients by name, or add new patients at this point.

You no longer need to select the patient first.

2. Once the script or patient is selected, the Queue Scripts screen is displayed.

a. If you need to update or enter the patient’s details, do so using the Patient Details panel the left side of the screen.

b. To add further scripts for the patient, either scan the relevant barcode, or choose Add Manual Script and then type enough of the medication name to identify the item to be dispensed from the paper prescription.

c. Use the checkboxes next to each script to indicate the patient’s preferences, if any. You can also click the space to the right of a script’s checkboxes to type a comment for that script.

d. Use Notes if there are any comments that apply to the virtual basket as a whole.

e. Use the Script Ready TimeUrgent, or the Customer Calling Back On options to indicate when the scripts are expected to be ready.

f. Choose OK to add the virtual basket to the script queue.

When a barcode is scanned the item name is automatically selected from the script. If you are manually entering a script the item name will have to be typed in.

3. After each virtual basket is queued you return to the Scan Barcode or Select Patient pop-up.

The pop-up will keep repeating until it is closed.

4. When you have finished adding scripts to the queue, choose Done or press Esc to return to the Dispense panel.
