Global Access Keys

This section provides you with a list of keyboard shortcuts that you will find very useful to use when performing day-to-day dispensing operations.

 

Function Keys and Basic Key Combinations

Key(s) Description
F1 Displays the Help screen or panel
F10 Activates or focus the main menu
F8 or Ctrl+E Edits the selected patient’s details
F2 or Ctrl+H Focuses on the patient history
F6 or Ctrl+L Clears the dispensing screen
F5 Refreshes the dispensing screen
Alt+Down Opens or closes the current drop-down
Alt+Left To preview the previous label
Alt+Right To preview the next label
Ctrl+P To set the Item Type to Private Script
Ctrl+N To set the Item Type to RPBS Script, otherwise to PBS Script
F7 or Ctrl+T To set the Item Type to S3 Recordable
Ctrl+Q Shows the Price Lookup screen
F3 Toggles Outside Repeat status
F4 or Ctrl+D Toggles Deferred status
F9 or Ctrl+O Toggles Owing status
F11 Shows Script Price screen
F12 Opens Item Dispensed list
Ctrl+F2 Displays the Script Organiser

 

Basic Keyboard Operations on the Dispense Screen

Key(s) Description
Home, End, Left, Right, Ctrl+Left, Ctrl+Right Use the horizontal motion navigation keys on their own or with Shift held down to select text; this moves the cursor within the typed area of the search control text box.
Backspace, Delete, Clipboard Actions, Key Combinations Use these keys to operate within the typed area at the current cursor location in the search control text box.
Alphanumeric Keys, Punctuation, Printable Characters Typing using these keys replaces selected text.
Alt+Down or Using the Magnifying Glass icon This action invokes a search within the current search control and can be used as the initial search criteria.

 

Basic Keyboard Operations within the Search Control

Key(s) Description
Up, Down, PgUp, PgDn, Ctrl+PgUp, Ctrl+PgDn Use the vertical-motion navigation keys to move the active or highlighted row within the current search result set (area / table); scroll if necessary to keep the highlighted row visible.
Ctrl+PgUp, Ctrl+PgDn Jumps to the first and last rows respectively in the result set.
PgUp, PgDn Moves up or down by a page with one row from the former page still visible to avoid confusion.
Enter Selects the active or highlighted row and moves focus to the next field after the just-used search control.
Esc Cancels the search when you click outside the search results area, with focus remaining on the search control’s text box.
Ins, Alt+A Activates the Add New pop-up, if adding new records is allowed.
F2 Acts as the keyboard equivalent of right click and displays the context menu.
