Password Errors

When working with passwords, you might see the following error messages.

Password Error Description
Login failed, x attempts left The password entered was not correct. You have the specified number of further attempts to enter the correct password.
The account is locked

The staff member’s account has been temporarily locked, for example because too many failed login attempts were made in a short period of time.

The account will be unlocked automatically once 15 minutes have elapsed. Alternatively, a staff member with user administration permission can unlock the account immediately.

Invalid password format

There is a problem with the password you are trying to set.

  • Does it meet or exceed the minimum password length?
  • If password composition rules are enabled, does it contain all the necessary types of characters?
