Foil Types #

Currently, there are several different types of foils available to be used with PACKMAN. These are:

  • Standard
  • 7-Day Unit Dose
  • 28 Day
  • PRN
  • Jumbo
  • Mega
Standard Foils #

The Standard foils are approximately 220mm in length

7-Day Unit Dose #

The 7-Day Unit Dose system uses standard foils. This system provides one foil for each dosage time (like the Webster System), with up to four medications per foil. The foil provides enough doses for 7 days.

28 Day Foils #

The 28 Day system also uses standard foils.Like the 7-Day Unit Dose, this system provides one foil for each dosage time (like the Webster System), with up to four medications per foil. The software produces sufficient foils for four weeks of doses.

PRN #

PRN packs use standard foils and are used to pack medication that is only administered as required.

Jumbo Foils #

Jumbo foils are approximately 255mm in length and have perforations so that doses can be torn off.
They can be printed in two different formats:

  • N format
  • L format

N format
The N format prints the patient’s name on each blister.
L Format
The L format prints the patient’s name on blister 1, the doctor’s name on blister 2, the pharmacy’s name on blister 3 and the date of the dose on blister 4.

Mega Foils #

Mega foils are 263mm in length. Like the Jumbo foils, the Mega foils can be printed in either N or L format.

Foil Direction #

Jumbo and Mega foils can be printed in an Up or Down direction.A direction of up prints the days so that they are printed up the page (with the later day first), while a direction of down prints the days down the page (with the later day last).
