To merge the customers:
1. In the RPM menu, click Customers and then click All Customers.
The All Customers screen is displayed.
2. Select Tools and select Merge Customers from the drop-down list.
The Merge Customer screen is displayed.
3. Select Show Duplicates to show all the duplicate customers.
4. Select Retain check box to retain the customer of your choice and select Skip check box to skip the customer from being merged. You can also use Edit drop-down options to select or deselect skip.
5. To select large amount of duplicate customers, select Auto Select.
The Auto Select Options dialogue is displayed.
Select one of the following:
- Retain Person From Store: This option enables you to select the Store from the drop-down list and it will automatically select Retain option for customers from the selected Store.
- Merge only where 2 duplicates exist: This option enables you to merge the customers where only two duplicates exist. It will search for two duplicate customers and select Retain option for the customer having most of data associated with it.
6. Select OK to view your selection. If you wish not to continue with Auto Select preferences, select Untick All from the Edit drop-down list.
7. Select Perform Merge to proceed with the merge.
8. On the confirmation message, select Yes.
The customer will be merged and retained in the list of customers in the database.
