On selecting a patient, the patient’s previously recorded allergies and medical conditions are displayed here. This will help you make suitable choices when dispensing drugs to a patient. Here, you can also view which items were previously dispensed to the patient.
If there are more allergies and medical conditions than can be displayed, use the scroll bar to view the remaining information. You can also use the splitter bar to resize it. The scroll bar is added automatically to this area if there is not enough space to display all the information.
To add an allergy or medical condition to a patient’s records, select the plus icon and choose the appropriate item from the list. To remove an allergy or medical condition, select the item from the list and choose delete.
Allergy Markers
Letters in brackets indicate the type of allergy:
- Drug class allergies are marked with ‘C’.
- Brand drug allergies are marked with ‘B’.
- Generic drug allergies have no special marker as they are most commonly used.
