The Dispenser field displays the name of the pharmacist or person responsible for dispensing the script. Enter your name in the search text box, when dispensing a script.
You can select a Dispenser by Code or Name.
Dispenser Code
This is the usual (and fastest) way to select Dispensers.
Each Dispenser has a unique identifying code. It is initially generated by Clear Dispense, but we recommend that you set it to the Dispenser’s initials or something else that is short and easy to remember. You can include middle initials or other characters if necessary to make the code unique.
To select a Dispenser using their code:
- In the Dispenser box, type a full stop followed by the code.
- Press Enter.
Dispenser Name
To select the Dispenser using their name:
- In the Dispenser box, type a comma followed by part of the Dispenser’s surname. The comma is to skip the first search column, Code.
- If your system is setup for automatic searches, the drop-down list is displayed. If not, press Enter and the Dispenser list drops down with the closest match highlighted.
- Select the Dispenser you want, then choose OK.
TIP
To add a new Dispenser, choose Add in the Dispenser drop-down list. Enter the information in the Dispenser Details screen, then choose OK.
ABN
If your pharmacy has two ABNs, an ABN button is shown at the bottom left of the screen. Use the ABN button if you want to override the default ABN for a particular script.
For Example
Override the default ABN if you have separate ABNs for your dispensary and front-of-shop businesses, and want to record a front-of-shop item in a patient’s dispensing history without it being included in the figures for your dispensary ABN.
The default ABN for dispensing is selected in Module Setup.
To override the default ABN for a script:
- Select the ABN button. A list of ABNs is displayed. A check mark is shown next to the current ABN for the script. The default ABN for dispensing is also indicated.
- Select the required ABN from the list.
