To set the medication type for an item shown on the Medication Summary screen:
1. Right click on an item in either the top (summary) or bottom (detail) table.
2. From the pop up menu, select Set Medication Type, then the medication type required, and then finally choose one of the following options:
- As the default for this drug This sets the medication type as the default for all brands and strengths of the selected generic drug and form.
- For this drug for this patient This sets the medication type for all brands and strengths of the selected generic drug and form, for the current patient only.
- For this script only. This option is only shown when working in the bottom (detail) table, where individual scripts are shown.
NOTE
Medication type overrides are reflected in the Medication Summary Report.
You can also set the default medication type for a drug on the Drug Details screen.
