Some states have additional requirements for dispensing paperless ePrescriptions.
Western Australia
For Schedule 8 medicines:
- The existing requirement for the patient’s date of birth to be recorded still applies. If the patient’s date of birth is not recorded in the dispensing system, the following warning is displayed.
Check the date of birth with the patient and enter it into the Patient Details screen. You will then be able to proceed with the script.
- If the date of birth on the paperless ePrescription is different to that recorded in the dispensing system, the following warning is displayed.
Check the date of birth with the patient, then type it into the Patient’s Date of Birth field. The patient’s details will be updated and you will be able to proceed with the script.
The WA Department of Health requires that this date be typed, and that it not be defaulted to either of the dates available.
