The Identity tab has the most frequently used information about the medical institution.
Code
The institution Code uniquely identifies the medical institution. It is shown in medical institution lists, and on various screens and reports.
The institution code is shown:
- On its own when clearly separated from other information (e.g. in its own box on the Medical Institution Details screen, in its own column in medical institution lists).
Note
When patients are in medical institutions, the institution code is shown in patient list and the patient organiser. This is a quick way of seeing which patients are in which institutions.
RACF ID
When claiming RACF medication chart items through PBS Online, the medical institution is identified by its RACF ID, also known as RACS ID.
The RACF ID is a number with up to four digits. Enter it into the RACF ID field on the Identity tab of the Medical Institution Details screen.
The residential aged care facility identifier (RACF ID, also called RACS ID) of each medical institution for which medication chart items will be claimed through PBS Online must be recorded. It will then be used automatically when dispensing medication chart scripts for any patients in that medical institution.
The RACF ID is a number with up to four digits. Enter it into the RACF ID box on the Identity tab of the Medical Institution Details screen.
Identity Details
The identity details of Medical Institutions is similar to the other instances where common identity information are entered. The main difference is in entering names. Instead of entering individual names such as given names and surnames, you only enter the name of the institution providing care.
