When an eScript or paperless ePrescription is downloaded, the Brand Sub field shows N if the prescriber has specified “Do Not Substitute”.
You can now change this to Y, for instance when you have consulted the prescriber and have confirmed that supply of a different brand can take place.
If you change Brand Sub from N to Y for an eScript or ePrescription, the following reminder is displayed:
1. Choose OK to confirm that brand substitution is allowed.
2. Choose Cancel if the change was made in error. The script will revert to its previous “do not substitute” state.
