Closing the Gap
From 1 July 2021, the CTG annotation is no longer mandatory, with eligibility for co-payment relief being determined by the patient’s CTG registration status.
CTG prescriptions with outstanding repeats will still show their original CTG annotations. For new prescriptions, the annotation CTG00B will automatically be applied if the patient is registered for CTG.
NOTE
On the Patient Details screen, the Registered for CTG checkbox can be found on the Membership tab.
Continuing Medication Program
The Continuing Medication Program (CMP), which has previously operated with a manual pharmacy remuneration system, will now utilise the existing CTG payment mechanism through PBS Online.
Under the new arrangements, each approved CMP organisation will be provided with a unique CMP identifier (e.g. CMP001) by the Department of Health. If a CMP organisation determines that a client meets the definition of primary or secondary homelessness and satisfies other CMP eligibility criteria, they will annotate each prescription or repeat authorisation form with the organisation’s CMP identifier. The CMP identifier is six character alphanumeric code starting with CMP, e.g. CMP001.
When dispensing such a script, enter the CMP annotation in the CTG/CMP field (previously labelled CTG). The pharmacy will be automatically reimbursed for the concessional co payment via PBS Online at the time of dispensing.
NOTE
The CMP annotation does not propagate from one supply to the next as the patient may not be eligible for CMP co payment relief when that next supply is required. If the patient is still eligible at that time, the CMP organisation will annotate it with their CMP identifier.
