The optional Front Counter program is intended for use at your Scripts In and Scripts Out counter or counters. It has separate panels for Scripts In and Scripts Out, plus a convenient web browser.
Use it to:
- Check, enter or update patient details at script‑in.
- Queue scripts for dispensing, including scanning paperless ePrescriptions at script‑in so the patient can have their mobile device back.
- Check the status of queued scripts.
- Record script collection.
- Set the default wait time that applies when scripts are queued.
NOTE
Contact Corum Support if you want to use Front Counter functions in CCD.
Adding Scripts to the Queue from the Front Counter Program
If you are using the optional Front Counter program, you will usually add scripts to the queue there. You can also add scripts to the queue in Dispense.
1. Do one of the following:
- If you have an ePrescription token, an older‑style eScript barcode, or one of your own repeat forms, scan its barcode.
- Otherwise, in the Scan Barcode or Select Patient field, start typing part of the patient’s name, then select the required patient from the list of matches displayed. You can also choose Add New to add a new patient.
The Queue Scripts screen is displayed. The patient’s details are shown on the left, and if you scanned a barcode the corresponding medication is shown on the right.
2. If you need to update or enter the patient’s details, do so using the Patient Details panel the left side of the screen.
3. To add further scripts for the patient, either scan the relevant barcode, or choose Add Manual Script and then type enough of the medication name to identify the item to be dispensed from the paper prescription.
4. Use the checkboxes next to each script to indicate the patient’s preferences, if any. You can also click the space to the right of a script’s checkboxes to type a comment for that script.
5. Use Notes if there are any comments that apply to the virtual basket as a whole.
6. Use the Script Ready Time, Urgent, or the Customer Calling Back On options to indicate when the scripts are expected to be ready.
7. Choose OK to add the virtual basket to the script queue.
Two script queue dockets are printed: a customer copy for the patient, and a pharmacy copy to put in a physical basket for dispensary use.
