To fill a script deferred previously by your own pharmacy, follow the dispensing workflow for Dispensing Repeat Scripts and dispense it as you would an Own Repeat.
To fill a script deferred by an outside pharmacy, follow the dispensing workflow for Repeat Scripts and dispense it as you would when Dispensing an Outside Repeat.
Similar to dispensing an outside script, when the previously deferred option is selected two new fields are added to the dispensing screen. The fields are Orig Script # and Orig Appr #.
To dispense a previously deferred script:
- From the menu bar, choose Script → Previously Deferred.
- Enter details for the script as you would for an original script.
- In the Repeats field, type the number of times the item was prescribed followed by the number of times it has been previously dispensed, as indicated on the form.
- Enter the original script number, and original approval number into the Orig Script # and Orig Appr # fields.
- Select Dispense to dispense the deferred script.
NOTE
When dispensing a previously deferred script, the Defer button is disabled on the Dispense screen as the script cannot be deferred a second time.
