The Prescriber field displays the previously set prescriber for the patient. This field is disabled if the Item Type is set to S3 Recordable Supply or Continued Dispensing or if the patient is deactivated.
You can look for a prescriber by entering the:
- Prescriber name
- Prescriber number
- Code
- Address
As you enter a prescriber’s name, results matching your search entry are displayed with the following information:
- Title: Title of the prescriber
- Name: Given name of the prescriber
- Surname: Surname or family name of the prescriber
- Address: Mailing address of the prescriber
- Prescriber #: The number registered to the selected prescriber
- Prescriber Type(s): The type of prescriber
- Phone #: The prescriber’s contact number
If you specify a usual Prescriber for a patient, the Prescriber is automatically selected when the patient is selected. The usual Prescriber is set on the Identity tab of the Patient Details screen. There is also an option to automatically select the patient’s last Prescriber if no usual Prescriber has been set up.
CAUTION
Please check with your Pharmacy Board and other professional guidelines before using either of these automatic Prescriber selections.
You can highlight frequently used Prescribers so they stand out in lists.
You can highlight, deactivate and edit Prescribers directly from the Prescriber list. When the list is dropped down, press F2 or right-click on a record to display the Actions menu, then choose the required action.
